Historic Rain Fall & The Effect

This year, Amarillo, Texas has experienced an extraordinary amount of rainfall, nearly breaking records and surpassing the precipitation levels of the past three years. With half the year still to go, the city is already nearing the total yearly rainfall from previous years. Let's take a closer look at the numbers:

In 2023, Amarillo has already received 13.7 inches of rainfall, earning it the rank of 67 among the wettest years on record. This significant amount of precipitation demonstrates the remarkable nature of this year's weather patterns.

Comparing to previous years, the city witnessed 16.4 inches of rainfall in 2022, ranking it at 55 in terms of precipitation levels. Similarly, in 2021, Amarillo experienced 15.0 inches of rainfall, securing the 61st spot on the list.
